Steelers Head to Warwickshire Looking for First League Win
Black Country Steelers are back on the road this Saturday as they travel to face Warwickshire Hawks, with the team looking to pick up their first NBL Division 2 win of the season. The Steelers currently sit at 0–3 after a tough start to the league campaign, with the latest defeat coming against Anglia Ruskin University last weekend. Despite the 80–72 loss, there were plenty of positives to take from the game. After falling as much as 23 points behind, the Steelers showed plenty of fight to bring the deficit back and finish strongly. Now it's about taking that performance into Saturday from the start. There is no hiding from the fact that the Steelers want that first league win. The opening three games have been competitive in spells, but the team knows it needs to put together a complete performance for 40 minutes. Warwickshire will provide another tough test, particularly on their home court. The squad have been back in training this week and will head into Saturday knowing exactly what is at stake.

MATCH REPORT
Steelers Split Weekend Double-Header With Cup Victory
Black Country Steelers endured a demanding weekend of basketball, falling to Charnwood Riders in Saturday's league fixture before bouncing back with a hard-fought victory over Cardiff City in Sunday's National Cup clash. It was a weekend that tested the Steelers physically and mentally, with the team facing two competitive fixtures in the space of 24 hours. Tough Night Against Charnwood Saturday saw the Steelers return to league action against Charnwood Riders, but it proved to be a frustrating evening for Black Country as they were unable to produce their best basketball. Charnwood took advantage of their opportunities and the Steelers struggled to build any sustained momentum throughout the contest, ultimately suffering a tough defeat. With little time to dwell on the result, attention quickly turned towards Sunday's National Cup fixture. Steelers Bounce Back Against Cardiff The response came less than 24 hours later as the Steelers welcomed Cardiff City for their latest National Cup test. In another closely fought contest, Black Country showed plenty of resilience to battle through the difficult moments and come away with a valuable cup victory. The win provided the perfect response to Saturday's disappointment and gave the Steelers an opportunity to celebrate in front of their home support. A Weekend of Character While the Steelers would have wanted a different outcome against Charnwood, Sunday's result ensured the weekend ended on a positive note. Two games in two days provided another valuable test for a team continuing to build together, with the Steelers now turning their attention back towards league action. The season is still in its early stages, and there is plenty of basketball still to be played. One tough loss. One important win. The Steelers move forward.

Steelers Set for Final Pre-Season Test Against Worcester Wolves
The Black Country Steelers will take on Worcester Wolves on Saturday 12th September in their final pre-season friendly ahead of the new campaign. The Wolves, who compete in NBL Division 1, enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, finishing as winners of their Division 1 pool. They will provide another strong test for the Steelers as preparations for the new season reach their final stage. The fixture will provide one final opportunity for the squad to test themselves in a competitive setting before the NBL Division 2 campaign officially gets underway on Saturday 20th September. The game will be played behind closed doors, with no spectators permitted, as both teams use the fixture as a final opportunity to prepare ahead of their respective league campaigns. Following a productive pre-season, the Steelers will be looking to build on the progress made so far and finish their preparations on a positive note against high-level opposition. Saturday's meeting with Worcester represents the final test before the games start to count, with the Steelers ready to enter the new NBL Division 2 season with confidence and intent.
